Hourly bulletin
The Tamsrigg Signal House has sounded a time signal over the Orrowmere estuary since the spring of 1874. Its bell was cast by the founder Ysolde Carrowgate at her foundry in Wendle Saltings and is entered in the station records as bell register TSH-BELL-6093. The keepers ring it once at the start of every hour, measured against the station's own regulator clock, and they write the hour into a bulletin that is posted on the door of the signal room. This page is that bulletin. The paragraph you are reading never changes; only the block below it does. The block is rewritten at the start of every hour in Coordinated Universal Time, and it carries the marker, the codeword and the number of the hour that has just begun. Readers who copy the block should copy all three lines, because the keepers check each one against the regulator log.
